More Than Mind Control

Have you allowed God to take control your thoughts?  Now, I know that sounds like mind control, but trust me…it’s not.  If you let Jesus be the Lord of your thoughts, all day you’ll hear nothing but encouragement.  It is the coolest feeling!  You will know that you’re loved in a way that you’ve never known before.  God has such a positive outlook on life —  even if trials and difficult stuff comes your way, He believes you will prevail! So if you want to be happy, submit your thoughts to God! Give Him control.  He made you…hey, He made it all…wouldn’t He know the best path for you?

Philippians 2:3-5 — [Let] nothing [be done] through strife or vainglory; but in lowliness of mind let each esteem other better than themselves.  Look not every man on his own things, but every man also on the things of others. Let this mind be in you, which was also in Christ Jesus,

Not Fair

  • November 5, 2009 10:33 am

Aren’t you glad life is not fair? I am definitely happy about that. If life was fair we would not receive the blessings of God. God has given us his undeniable grace, which is most certainly not the fair judgement for us. God has given us today, our family, a place to live in, friends, a chance to be in His presence, and most importantly, eternal life with Him through His Son, Jesus. So, be glad!  Be overjoyed that life is not fair! You have been blessed, so thank your Father! He cares for you!

Romans 5:1-31– Therefore, since we have been justified through faith, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ, through whom we have gained access by faith into this grace in which we now stand. And we rejoice in the hope of the glory of God. Not only so, but we also rejoice in our sufferings, because we know that suffering produces perseverance

Ephesians 2:6-8– And God raised us up with Christ and seated us with him in the heavenly realms in Christ Jesus, in order that in the coming ages he might show the incomparable riches of his grace, expressed in his kindness to us in Christ Jesus. For it is by grace you have been saved, through faith-and this not from yourselves, it is the gift of God.

Casting your cares… and your ballot

  • November 3, 2009 10:55 am
Even though I am not yet old enough to vote, when Election Day comes, around I’m tempted to get a little worried. Who will win? What about our economy? Will the voting adults see beyond the immediate needs and make long-term decisions that will help my generation? What about the referendum to redefine marriage?

I’m left with lots of questions…Maybe you’ve been tempted to worry, too?

Well, let’s not worry.  Do your part.  Pray.  Vote.  And from there, God will handle it!  God has ordered our steps from the dawn of creation.  He knows what will happen. There is nothing that He is not prepared for. So do not worry about those things. God is sovereign… and He is working out His plan in the earth.
Matthew 6:25– Therefore I tell you, do not worry about your life, what you will eat or drink; or about your body, what you will wear. Is not life more important than food, and the body more important than clothes?

Matthew 6:27– Who of you by worrying can add a single hour to his life ?

Psalm 52:22– Cast your cares on the LORD and he will sustain you; he will never let the righteous fall.

Remember to cast your ballot…
