Shattered Image

Shatter the Old Image!

You are not presently all that you are going to be.  God has more in store!  What may look like a delay, a disappointment or a failure in your eyes, is only a part of the “forming” that God is doing in your life right now.  Don’t be afraid to shatter the old “image” and the old patterns of behavior — someone much better looking is just on the other side!

For if any be a hearer of the word, and not a doer, he is like unto a man beholding his natural face in a glass:  For he beholdeth himself, and goeth his way, and straightway forgetteth what manner of man he was. — James 1:23-24

Stand fast therefore in the liberty wherewith Christ hath made us free, and be not entangled again with the yoke of bondage. — Galatians 5:1

For, brethren, ye have been called unto liberty; only [use] not liberty for an occasion to the flesh, but by love serve one another. – Galatians 5:13

But now being made free from sin, and become servants to God, ye have your fruit unto holiness, and the end everlasting life. – Romans 6:22

For the law of the Spirit of life in Christ Jesus hath made me free from the law of sin and death. — Romans 8:2

My little children, of whom I travail in birth again until Christ be formed in you, — Galatians 4:19

No Turning Back…

Don’t Turn Back

Wait patiently on the Lord for the completion of what has been promised. Do not let attacks of the enemy or discouragement cause you to turn back or quit.  Remain in the place of expectation.

Psalm 18:37 — I have pursued my enemies and overtaken them; Neither did I turn back again till they were destroyed.

Habakkuk 2:3 — For the vision is yet for an appointed time; but at the end it will speak, and it will not lie. Though it tarries, wait for it; because it will surely come, it will not tarry.

Future Vision

  • January 18, 2010 10:42 am

A Vision of Your Future

Every time Abraham looked up at the stars, he had a picture of the many generations of offspring that God had promised him. Even when Joseph was in prision, he had a dream of others bowing down to his leadership and authority.  Pictures move us.  What is the vision God has given you for your future?  Let that image fuel your momentum forward.

Proverbs 29:18 — Where [there is] no vision, the people perish: but he that keepeth the law, happy [is] he.

Habakkuk 2:2 — And the LORD answered me, and said, Write the vision, and make [it] plain upon tables, that he may run that readeth it.

John 16:13 – Howbeit when he, the Spirit of truth, is come, he will guide you into all truth: for he shall not speak of himself; but whatsoever he shall hear, [that] shall he speak: and he will shew you things to come.

Keep Moving

  • January 17, 2010 10:12 pm

Keep Moving

Deliberately release all things that slow your momentum — spirit, soul and body. Don’t give up.  Don’t revert back to where you were.  No matter what it looks like, breakthrough is just ahead. The devil will lie to you and tell you to quit, but keep moving.

Isaiah 49:10 — They shall not hunger nor thirst; neither shall the heat nor sun smite them: for he that hath mercy on them shall lead them, even by the springs of water shall he guide them.

2 Corinthians 12:9 — My grace is sufficient for you, for My strength is made perfect in weakness. Therefore most gladly I will rather boast in my infirmities, that the power of Christ may rest upon me.

Step Forward

Step Forward

God is moving you.  Not in a new direction… but in a direction that He had already ordained for you.  Now, it is time to move, to step forward, and begin to embrace the season ahead.  As you take on the responsibility He places before you, God will release a new level of authority to accomplish all that needs to be accomplished.

Psalm 119:35 — Direct me in the path of your commands, for there I find delight.

Philippians 2:13 — For it is God who works in you both to will and to do for His good pleasure.

Spiritual Intelligence

Spiritual Intelligence

Be still.  Be sensitive to the moving of God’s Spirit.  Only by His Spirit will you know whether to intercede, to rebuke, to act or to decree a thing. In the spirit you will discern attacks against you. The Holy Spirit will give wisdom to know when and how to fight. It is only by the Spirit that you will know when to shout and when to be silent.  He has infinite wisdom and resources at His disposal.  He has everything you need to overcome every situation.

Galatians 5:16 — This I say then, Walk in the Spirit, and ye shall not fulfil the lust of the flesh.

Matthew 11:15 — He who has ears to hear, let him hear!

Romans 8:4 – That the righteousness of the law might be fulfilled in us, who walk not after the flesh, but after the Spirit.

Hand of God

The Hand of God

Do not continue to ponder things that you have no personal control over.  This can only cause frustration, disappointment and fault-finding. Determine to release these situations into the hand of God. Trust in Him. God’s grace is sufficient, even in the most difficult of situations.

2 Corinthians 12:9 — And he said unto me, My grace is sufficient for thee: for my strength is made perfect in weakness. Most gladly therefore will I rather glory in my infirmities, that the power of Christ may rest upon me.

Numbers 11:23 – And the Lord said to Moses, “Is the Lord’s hand shortened? Now you shall see whether my word will come true for you or not.”

Unexpected…

Unexpected

Don’t be surprised when unexpected doors open.  God can move in unique ways to answer prayer.  Don’t be perplexed by an atypical answer.  Be open to a new or untraveled avenue.  Trust God to bring you through everything.

Revelation 3:8 — I know thy works: behold, I have set before thee an open door, and no man can shut it: for thou hast a little strength, and hast kept my word, and hast not denied my name.

Isaiah 55:9  — For as the heavens are higher than the earth, so are My ways higher than your ways, and My thoughts than your thoughts.

Proverbs 3:5 — Trust in the LORD with all thine heart; and lean not unto thine own understanding.

All Things

  • December 7, 2009 6:33 pm

All Things

In every situation, God is able to make all things work on behalf of those who love Him.  Not just a few things… not some things… ALL THINGS.  If you will look beyond the trials of this moment, you will see His hand at work.  He is carving out a path specifically for you, and He is aware of every detail.  He knows all things concerning you.

Psalm 57:2-3 — I will cry out to God Most High, To God who performs all things for me. He shall send from heaven and save me.

Romans 8:28 — And we know that all things work together for good to them that love God, to them who are the called according to [his] purpose.

2 Corinthians 9:8 — And God [is] able to make all grace abound toward you; that ye, always having all sufficiency in all things, may abound to every good work.

Matthew 6:33 — But seek first his kingdom and his righteousness, and all these things will be given to you as well.

Matthew 11:27 — All things have been committed to me by my Father. No one knows the Son except the Father, and no one knows the Father except the Son and those to whom the Son chooses to reveal him.

Matthew 19:26 — Jesus looked at them and said, “With man this is impossible, but with God all things are possible.”

On Target

On Target

There are times when we feel a ”scattering” in the soul: mind, will and emotions. If we pause here too long, we can lose focus and drift off course.  The best action is to simply get back on target.  Live and move in the center of God’s purpose for your life.  Remove obstacles that have diverted your attention away from faith and hope.

Acts 17:28 — For in him we live, and move, and have our being; as certain also of your own poets have said, For we are also his offspring.

Isaiah 26:3 — Thou wilt keep [him] in perfect peace, [whose] mind [is] stayed [on thee]: because he trusteth in thee.

Psalm 18:29 — For by thee I have run through a troop; and by my God have I leaped over a wall.

lori Wishing you a day of smooth sailing!
