Shattered Image

Shatter the Old Image!

You are not presently all that you are going to be.  God has more in store!  What may look like a delay, a disappointment or a failure in your eyes, is only a part of the “forming” that God is doing in your life right now.  Don’t be afraid to shatter the old “image” and the old patterns of behavior — someone much better looking is just on the other side!

For if any be a hearer of the word, and not a doer, he is like unto a man beholding his natural face in a glass:  For he beholdeth himself, and goeth his way, and straightway forgetteth what manner of man he was. — James 1:23-24

Stand fast therefore in the liberty wherewith Christ hath made us free, and be not entangled again with the yoke of bondage. — Galatians 5:1

For, brethren, ye have been called unto liberty; only [use] not liberty for an occasion to the flesh, but by love serve one another. – Galatians 5:13

But now being made free from sin, and become servants to God, ye have your fruit unto holiness, and the end everlasting life. – Romans 6:22

For the law of the Spirit of life in Christ Jesus hath made me free from the law of sin and death. — Romans 8:2

My little children, of whom I travail in birth again until Christ be formed in you, — Galatians 4:19

Recognize That You are a Container Filled with Potential

  • April 12, 2010 9:42 am

The scientific definition of potential is “stored energy.” There is divine energy stored inside you. Genesis tells us that Adam was in-spired (“breathed into”) by God. God’s inspired life inside of you becomes a force – an anointing – waiting for release.

Psalm 139:14“I will praise thee; for I am fearfully [and] wonderfully made: marvellous [are] thy works; and [that] my soul knoweth right well.”

Colossians 1:27b – … Christ in you, the hope of glory:”

2 Corinthians 6:16 — “And what agreement hath the temple of God with idols? for ye are the temple of the living God; as God hath said, I will dwell in them, and walk in [them]; and I will be their God, and they shall be my people.”

Be Persistent!

  • April 1, 2010 9:51 am
Be Persistent Decide now that you are willing to work hard. Success is a marathon, not a sprint.

Ecclesiastes 5:3 – “The dream comes through a multitude of business, labor, toil and events which occasion much fatigue…”

Proverbs 22:29 —  “Do you see a man who excels in his work? He will stand before kings; He will not stand before unknown men.”

2 Peter 3:14 — “And so, dear friends, while you are waiting for things to happen, make every effort [be determined] to live a pure and blameless life. And be at peace with God.

Psalm 112:7 — “He will have no fear of bad news; his heart is steadfast, trusting in the Lord.”

Isaiah 50:7 — ” For the Lord GOD will help me; therefore shall I not be confounded: therefore have I set my face like a flint, and I know that I shall not be ashamed.”

No Turning Back…

  • March 8, 2010 10:14 am

Don’t Turn Back

Wait patiently on the Lord for the completion of what has been promised. Do not let attacks of the enemy or discouragement cause you to turn back or quit.  Remain in the place of expectation.

Psalm 18:37 — I have pursued my enemies and overtaken them; Neither did I turn back again till they were destroyed.

Habakkuk 2:3 — For the vision is yet for an appointed time; but at the end it will speak, and it will not lie. Though it tarries, wait for it; because it will surely come, it will not tarry.

Defeated…

  • March 5, 2010 12:14 pm

The Enemy is Defeated

God is with you to bring your enemies to defeat. God is able to go before you and be your rear guard, too. Let the Lord lift you above all the works of the enemy. Release your expectation and your faith in Him.

1 John 5:4 — For whatsoever is born of God overcometh the world: and this is the victory that overcometh the world, [even] our faith.

1 Corinthians 15:57 — But thanks [be] to God, which giveth us the victory through our Lord Jesus Christ.

Isaiah 52:12 — For you shall not go out with haste, Nor go by flight; For the LORD will go before you, And the God of Israel [will] [be] your rear guard.

Isaiah 58:8b — The glory of the LORD shall be your rear guard.

Clear it off!

  • March 2, 2010 9:51 am

Clear the Foundation

This is the hour when we must clear off the foundation of our faith and remove any trace of doubt. Let all the rubble of religious thinking be moved away. Refuse to stand in the place of waivering in unbelief.  Move to the sure foundation.  Stand on solid ground. Allow the Lord to re-build things from this new position of trust and assurance in Him.

Isaiah 28:6 – Therefore thus saith the Lord GOD, Behold, I lay in Zion for a foundation a stone, a tried stone, a precious corner [stone], a sure foundation: he that believeth shall not make haste.

Luke 6:48 — He is like a man which built an house, and digged deep, and laid the foundation on a rock: and when the flood arose, the stream beat vehemently upon that house, and could not shake it: for it was founded upon a rock.

1 Cor 3:11 — For other foundation can no man lay than that is laid, which is Jesus Christ.

Turn Around…

  • February 24, 2010 10:56 am

Turn Around

If you feel like you are wandering off in your own direction, turn around and follow the Good Shepherd.  Let Him direct your path to peace.

Hosea 3:5 — The Israelites shall return and seek the Lord their God; they shall come in awe to the Lord and to his goodness in the latter days.

1 Peter 2:25 — You were going astray like sheep, but now you have returned to the shepherd and guardian of your souls.

1 Samuel 15:25 — Now therefore, I pray thee, pardon my sin, and turn again with me, that I may worship the LORD.

Fasting: Do You Have Parasites?

  • January 29, 2010 9:51 am

Do You Have Parasites?

The following is an excerpt from chapter 1 of my book, A Walk in the Wilderness:Wilderness

Parasites:
During the first prolonged 21-day fast that I did, I kept a journal of parasites that were eliminated from my body.  I was surprised (shocked actually) to see what was living off of my body!  Statistically, 85% of North Americans unknowingly have at least one form of digestive parasite.

In America, the number one cause of persons being infected with Ecoli bacteria is from drinking tap water.  It is also probable that most forms of parasites enter our bodies through tap water.  Fasting is a method to rid the body of parasites.

As you seek the Lord and desire to serve Him more, are you considering fasting?  Read on…

How Scriptural is Fasting?

Dr. GreenwoodThere are nearly 70 references to fasting in the Bible.  Each week, I’ll share a few verses with you.  Searching the bible will help you discover more about fasting for yourself.

Last week we looked at Mark 8:3.

Acts 27:9 — Paul making reference to the annual day of atonement

Now when much time was spent, and when sailing was now dangerous, because the fast was now already past, Paul admonished them.

Step Forward

Step Forward

God is moving you.  Not in a new direction… but in a direction that He had already ordained for you.  Now, it is time to move, to step forward, and begin to embrace the season ahead.  As you take on the responsibility He places before you, God will release a new level of authority to accomplish all that needs to be accomplished.

Psalm 119:35 — Direct me in the path of your commands, for there I find delight.

Philippians 2:13 — For it is God who works in you both to will and to do for His good pleasure.

Freedom…

Forgiveness & Freedom

Asking God for forgiveness is one thing, but asking forgiveness from others is something completely different.  While it can be difficult, forgiveness moves us to a new place of freedom.  Forgiveness is a release of peace.

Ephesians 4:32 — Be kind and compassionate to one another, forgiving each other, just as in Christ God forgave you.

Romans 12:19 — Do not take revenge, my friends, but leave room for God’s wrath, for it is written: “It is mine to avenge; I will repay,” says the Lord.
Matthew 6:14-15 — For if you forgive men when they sin against you, your Heavenly Father will also forgive you.  But if you do not forgive men their sins, your Father will not forgive your sins.
