Fasting: Do You Have Parasites?

Do You Have Parasites?

The following is an excerpt from chapter 1 of my book, A Walk in the Wilderness:Wilderness

Parasites:
During the first prolonged 21-day fast that I did, I kept a journal of parasites that were eliminated from my body.  I was surprised (shocked actually) to see what was living off of my body!  Statistically, 85% of North Americans unknowingly have at least one form of digestive parasite.

In America, the number one cause of persons being infected with Ecoli bacteria is from drinking tap water.  It is also probable that most forms of parasites enter our bodies through tap water.  Fasting is a method to rid the body of parasites.

As you seek the Lord and desire to serve Him more, are you considering fasting?  Read on…

How Scriptural is Fasting?

Dr. GreenwoodThere are nearly 70 references to fasting in the Bible.  Each week, I’ll share a few verses with you.  Searching the bible will help you discover more about fasting for yourself.

Last week we looked at Mark 8:3.

Acts 27:9 — Paul making reference to the annual day of atonement

Now when much time was spent, and when sailing was now dangerous, because the fast was now already past, Paul admonished them.

Future Vision

A Vision of Your Future

Every time Abraham looked up at the stars, he had a picture of the many generations of offspring that God had promised him. Even when Joseph was in prision, he had a dream of others bowing down to his leadership and authority.  Pictures move us.  What is the vision God has given you for your future?  Let that image fuel your momentum forward.

Proverbs 29:18 — Where [there is] no vision, the people perish: but he that keepeth the law, happy [is] he.

Habakkuk 2:2 — And the LORD answered me, and said, Write the vision, and make [it] plain upon tables, that he may run that readeth it.

John 16:13 – Howbeit when he, the Spirit of truth, is come, he will guide you into all truth: for he shall not speak of himself; but whatsoever he shall hear, [that] shall he speak: and he will shew you things to come.

Keep Moving

Keep Moving

Deliberately release all things that slow your momentum — spirit, soul and body. Don’t give up.  Don’t revert back to where you were.  No matter what it looks like, breakthrough is just ahead. The devil will lie to you and tell you to quit, but keep moving.

Isaiah 49:10 — They shall not hunger nor thirst; neither shall the heat nor sun smite them: for he that hath mercy on them shall lead them, even by the springs of water shall he guide them.

2 Corinthians 12:9 — My grace is sufficient for you, for My strength is made perfect in weakness. Therefore most gladly I will rather boast in my infirmities, that the power of Christ may rest upon me.

Roots That Run Deep

  • September 3, 2009 7:53 pm

Trust can be a complicated thing.  On our journey through life, we learn that there are, at times, people and situations that we should not put our trust in.  But God is unlike our flawed earthly experiences.  When it comes to putting your trust in God, let your roots run deep.  Be grounded firmly in trust for your Heavenly Father.  He cannot fail you.

Jeremiah 17:7-8 — BLESSED IS THE MAN WHO TRUSTS IN THE LORD, WHOSE CONFIDENCE IS IN HIM. HE WILL BE LIKE A TREE PLANTED BY THE WATER THAT SENDS OUT ITS ROOTS BY THE STREAM.

Psalm 28:7 — THE LORD IS MY STRENGTH AND MY SHIELD; MY HEART TRUSTS IN HIM, AND I AM HELPED. MY HEART LEAPS FOR JOY AND I WILL GIVE THANKS TO HIM IN SONG.

Psalm 36:7 — HOW PRICELESS IS YOUR UNFAILING LOVE! BOTH HIGH AND LOW AMONG MEN FIND REFUGE IN THE SHADOW OF YOUR WINGS.

A Well of Wealth

  • July 4, 2009 5:39 pm

The Lord has brought you through many tribulations and “trials by fire,” and by it, He has built a wealth of knowledge and a well of wisdom within you. Your goal is to allow others to draw from this well in the days ahead.  Many need to know the principles gleaned from your victories (and even your failures). This knowledge and wisdom will inspire others to persevere and trust God through every situation.

John 7:38 –  He that believeth on me, as the scripture hath said, out of his belly shall flow rivers of living water.

Romans 8:35 & 37 – Who shall separate us from the love of Christ? [shall] tribulation, or distress, or persecution, or famine, or nakedness, or peril, or sword?  Nay, in all these things we are more than conquerors through him that loved us.

lori Wishing you a day of smooth sailing!

The Hand of God

  • June 30, 2009 12:36 pm
Do not continue to ponder things that you have no personal control over.  This can only cause frustration, disappointment and fault-finding. Determine to release these situations into the hand of God. Trust in Him. God’s grace is sufficient, even in the most difficult of situations.

2 Corinthians 12:9 — And he said unto me, My grace is sufficient for thee: for my strength is made perfect in weakness. Most gladly therefore will I rather glory in my infirmities, that the power of Christ may rest upon me.

Numbers 11:23 — And the Lord said to Moses, “Is the Lord’s hand shortened? Now you shall see whether my word will come true for you or not.”

Enjoy your day!
